SACRAL NEUROMODULATION
A series of surgical illustrations describing the procedure of sacral neuromodulation. This procedure involves the insertion of a tined lead with electrodes into the S3 foramen, so that it can lie in very close proximity to, and thus electrically modulate, the S3 nerve. Stimulating the S3 nerve results in improvements in urinary frequency-urgency, urgency incontinence, urinary retention, and bowel urgency with or without fecal incontinence, thus these comprise the aims of the procedure.
